Retractable Belt Stanchions

Retractable belt stanchions are freestanding posts with a self-retracting belt built into the top. Extend the belt to a neighboring post to form a queue lane or barrier. When you're done, let it retract into the housing. Lavi models come in portable, magnetic, removable, and permanent mount options, with belt lengths of 10 or 15 feet.

Beltrac stanchions are engineered around a patented grooved post that connects to panels, rigid rails, signage systems, and merchandising fixtures. They also offer an ADA-compliant dual-belt option. Contempo stanchions have a smooth post profile and stainless steel material options. Both lines share the same base styles.

Choose retractable belt stanchions to form queues, or to create barrier systems within open areas. Use wall-mounted belt barriers to restrict access or close off areas such as aisles, hallways, and checkout lanes. Some spaces use both: wall-mounted belts for fixed boundaries near walls and aisles, and stanchions for adaptable queues and barriers in wide-open spaces.

Lavi's ADA line covers all four mount types: ADA Portable, ADA Magnetic, ADA Removable, and ADA Permanent. Each includes a lower belt that stays within cane-sweep range so the stanchion is detectable to a person using a mobility cane, meeting ADA 2010 Standards for detectable elements.

Lavi standard stanchion belts come in 10-foot and 15-foot lengths. The 10-foot belt fits most retail, banking, and event queues. The 15-foot belt covers wider entrances, airport lanes, and event perimeters. Custom belt lengths and colors are available through our in-house belt printing team.

Standard Lavi retractable belt stanchions range from 38.5 to 40 inches tall, depending on the base style selected. This waist-height dimension is the commercial standard for crowd control and queuing.

The Tempest® Plastic Outdoor Stanchion is built tough for outdoor use. It's constructed from weatherproof materials, including HDPE and recycled rubber, for reliable performance in exposed environments. Beltrac, Contempo, and Traditional Post & Rope stanchions with the galvanized sloped base option are also rated for outdoor use.

Yes, Lavi retractable belt stanchions use universal belt ends that connect to most major manufacturers' systems, so you can integrate them into existing setups without replacing equipment. However, if you are using other Lavi systems such as Post and Panel, NeXtrac Store Fixtures, and Post-top Stanchion Signs, these systems may not be compatible with other manufacturers' stanchions.
