Some queues need posts on weekdays and open floor on weekends. A recessed socket makes that switch routine: set the post in for a fixed, planted barrier along an entry or walkway, then lift it out and stow it when the space needs to clear. The socket recesses into the floor with a 1.5" lip framing the opening, and the included cap drops in flush when the post is out, so there is no exposed hole underfoot.
