Slatwall Displays and Gridwall Panels

Both are panel systems that hold shelves, hooks, and baskets, and both mount to Beltrac Partition Posts. A slatwall panel has a solid face with horizontal slots cut into it, which gives a finished look and carries more weight. A gridwall panel is an open wire grid, which is lighter, keeps sight lines through the fixture, and suits gift cards, blister packs, and light hanging product. Most stores use both: slatwall where the display should read as finished, gridwall where the room needs to stay open.

No, and the difference matters for load and durability. Slatwall with aluminum inserts is a medium-density fiberboard panel with metal strips pressed into the grooves, added because the board edge would otherwise crush under a loaded shelf. An extruded aluminum slatwall panel is aluminum throughout, so the slat edge carries the load directly. There are no inserts to fit or work loose, nothing to swell in damp conditions, and the face wipes clean.

A NeXtrac slatwall panel carries up to 340 pounds with the load equally distributed across the both slat faces and sides . Capacity depends on distribution rather than total weight, so spread heavier merchandise across several positions instead of concentrating it on one shelf, and keep the heaviest items low on the panel.

Yes. Slatwall panels use 1.5-inch on-center slat spacing and accept standard slatwall shelves, hooks, baskets, and sign holders, including accessories already in your store. NeXtrac Grid wall panels use standard gridwall or slat grid accessories.

Slatwall turns vertical space into selling space. Panels hold shelves, hooks, baskets, and bins, so a single face can carry packaged goods, hanging product, and impulse items at once, and the layout changes by moving accessories rather than replacing the fixture. In checkout queues, a double-sided panel puts merchandise within reach of people waiting in line.

Yes, by a wide margin. Pegboard holds hooks through small punched holes in a thin board, and the holes elongate as weight and handling accumulate. A slatwall slot runs the full width of the panel and supports hardware along its whole length, and an extruded aluminum slat carries load without the crushing that affects board-based panels.

Yes. Panels seat into weighted partition posts rather than mounting to a wall, so a run stands anywhere on the floor without anchoring or drilling. Hinged panels rotate to any angle, which lets a single run turn a corner, form an L around a checkout, or close a compact island.
